Ramone Carson was born in Kansas City but moved to Aurora at the age of 3. He began his K- 12 education in APS (at Vaughn and Park Lane) before moving to Germany, California, Germany again, and ultimately finishing high school in Fountain Colorado.
Mr. Carson began his career in education as a para-professional at a K-12 school. Over the course of his career he has served as an assistant principal, instructional coach and as a teacher for students in grades 3 through 12.
Mr.Carson earned his Master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in literacy from Lesley University. He completed his undergraduate work in at Western State College of Colorado and earned his teacher’s certificate through the Teacher in Residence program at Metro State. Mr. Carson is also a proud alum of the RELAY Leverage Leadership Institute and the Partners in Leadership program out of the University of Virginia.
Mr. Carson’s passions include his wife, daughters, 80’s cartoons and mom’s peach cobbler.
Andrea Burrell was born and raised in Denver, CO and graduated from Hinkley High School in Aurora, CO. She attended Metropolitan State University in Denver and graduated with a bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems and Management Science. Andrea spent the first 10 years of her career in corporate doing payroll, and accounting. After working in Denver Public Schools for a brief period, as a paraprofessional, Andrea went back to school at Metropolitan State University in the TIR program and earned her teacher’s license in Special Education. Since then she has been a special education teacher at middle school and high school levels; Dean at the high school level and now Assistant Principal at Wheeling Elementary. Working with kids has always been her passion and she enjoys making a difference with students and parents. Outside of work she loves to spend time with her 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
Jessica Hill is from Denver, CO. She went to Montbello High School where she graduated in 2005. She went to college at Tuskegee University and University of Phoenix studying Human Resources and Social Work. Jessica loves hanging out with friends and family and also loves swimming, walking, and kickboxing to name a few.

Tricia Dutton Morato grew up and went to college in Minnesota, graduating from Bethel University with a Bachelors in Education. She has her Masters in Teaching and Learning from St. Mary’s University. She is currently attending Denver University pursuing a certificate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
She began her career in Minnesota teaching 4th, 5th and 2nd grades, then spent five years teaching overseas in Brazil, where she taught 1st, 2nd, 6th, and 7th grades. Brazil is where she began her PYP journey as a PYP coordinator in 2006. During her 10 years at Wheeling Elementary, she has taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, as well as been an IB PYP Coordinator and Teaching Partner. During her years as a coordinator, she has supported two schools through candidacy, verification visits, and Wheeling Elementary through two evaluation visits. She has led workshops, participated in site visits, and had the privilege of serving on the board of The Rocky Mountain Association of IB Schools.
Tricia enjoys spending time with family and friends going to farmer’s markets, traveling, camping, biking, and water sports.
Catrina Hernandez was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. She grew up in North Denver with her 2 brothers and 1 sister. Catrina attended Loyola University, New Orleans for her undergraduate studies and the University of Phoenix for her graduate programs. After college, she returned to Denver and has been teaching for 21 years. She enjoys singing, craft projects, reading, cooking, and hiking.
