Cari Roberts grew up attending Aurora Public Schools, she graduated from Hinkley High School, and continued her education at Colorado State University where she earned a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. She has her Master’s in Technology from the University of Phoenix and earned her Principal’s license for the University of Denver. She began her career in Aurora teaching 4th, 5th and 2nd grades at Elkhart and Altura Elementary and moved on to teach 6th grade at South Middle School. She continued her career becoming a District Literacy Coach and District Lab class instructor at North Middle School, Central High School, and West College Preparatory. She transitioned into an administrative role when she became the Assistant Principal at Quest K-8 and the Principal of Aurora Frontier P-8. In 2019 Cari retired from APS, As a retired Principal she was asked to come back to support the transition for Wheeling as the Interim Principal for the remainder of the 2021-22 school year. Cari loves the outdoors and coaching her non-profit pole-vault club.
Tricia Dutton Morato grew up and went to college in Minnesota, graduating from Bethel University with a Bachelors in Education, including an emphasis in Art. She has her Masters in Teaching and Learning from St. Mary’s University and a certificate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Denver.
She began her career in 2000 teaching 4th, 5th and 2nd grades in Minnesota, then spent five years teaching overseas in Brazil, where she taught 1st, 2nd, 6th, and 7th grades. Brazil is where she began her PYP journey as a PYP coordinator in 2006. During her 13 years at Wheeling Elementary, she has taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, as well as been an IB PYP Coordinator, Teaching Partner (Instructional Coach), and Admin. TOSA. During her years as a PYP coordinator, she has supported two schools through candidacy, verification visits, and Wheeling Elementary through two evaluation visits. She has led workshops, participated in site visits, and had the privilege of serving on the board of The Rocky Mountain Association of IB Schools.
Tricia enjoys spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoys going to farmer’s markets, traveling, creating, camping, biking, volleyball, and water sports.

Jena Dollinger moved to Colorado when she was 4. Growing up Jena attended all APS schools and graduated from Aurora Central High School. Her love and passion for kids lead her to get a job at Clyde Miller P-8 right out of high school. After spending a year there, she then spent 8 years at Vaughn Elementary in the preschool program. She is currently at Wheeling Elementary. Outside of work, Jena has three boys. They love outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, and going to the park.
Gabriela Orozco is from Chihuahua, Mexico, and attended La Normal Superior Juana de Asbaje. She received her degree in Spanish Language Arts; after she graduated, she moved to Aurora, Colorado. She attended Regis University to obtain her Master's in Bilingual Elementary Education. Gabriela is currently studying for an Ed.S. Educational Leadership and Special Education Administration Educational Specialist at the University of Northern Colorado. Gabriela will work as CLDE Teacher Leader she will assume a wide range of roles to support the school and student success. She loves working at Wheeling because it is an environment where students and teachers work together to create a positive learning environment. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her five babies: Julieta(15), Gema(14), Luis Alfredo (10), Moncerrat (6) and Fernanda (5 months) and her husband Arturo (He is a great cook ).
