Run Club: Teach students proper run form, how to build stamina, and how to pace themselves through a variety of activities. We focus on being balanced. We encourage the students to make healthy food choices and to exercise regularly. This club is for 3rd-5th grade Explorers.  Watch our video here.

Strings Club: This is a club that is taught by a professional musician from the Denver Young Artists Orchestra. Students will learn the basics of the violin and play some simple songs. As we grow our program we will have different levels of orchestra for students to participate in. 3rd-5th Grade only. Watch our video here.

Football Club: Learn offensive and defensive strategies and how to apply them to the game. Students are practicing how to be balanced through properly warming up and stretching.This club is for 5th graders.  Watch our video here.

Student Council: This council honors students who consistently demonstrate behavioral and academic leadership qualities.  There is one representative from each 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classroom.  Their mission is to create projects that communicate special events (Spirit Days etc.) and the strengths of our learning throughout the building.  The projects include videos, newsletters, assemblies/fundraisers, speeches, and the construction of a yearbook. These students are practicing skills aligned with communication, self-management, reflection, inquiry, and social structures. Watch our video here.

Soccer for Success: “Soccer for Success is the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s free soccer-based afterschool program that uses soccer as a tool to address children’s health issues and juvenile delinquency, while promoting healthy lifestyles in urban underserved communities. Chess Club: This club is open to Explorers in kindergarten through the 5th grade. “All of our classes are taught by hand-picked and trained local teachers, who are expected to inspire an enthusiasm for the game within our students. ...In addition to lessons and traditional gameplay, we incorporate variations of chess games that build teamwork and foster a genuine enjoyment of a game…”-From Chess Wizards website. Capoeira: Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial arts. We will learn some basic movements and how to play a game in the “roda” or “circle”. We will learn some Portugese as well as some traditional songs. K-5 are able to join! Watch our video here. (coming soon)
