Principal’s Letter – July 2009
Dear Wheeling Families,
We are already getting excited about the start of the 2009-10 school year. It will be here before you know it. At this time, we would like to inform you about a couple events that will be happening as we prepare for the new school year.
Enclosed with this letter, you will see information about the APS Back to School Kickoff. Please mark your calendar now. We look forward to seeing many of you at this event August 1.
The first day of school for grades 1-5 will be August 5; kindergarten will begin August 12. Remember our school hours are 7:45-2:15. As you prepare for school, please see the Wheeling website at www.aps.k12.co.us/Wheeling to see the updated supply list for elementary schools after July 1. You will also be able to get the supply list from Walmart and Target. If you are a bus student, an updated bus schedule will be available at the school or on the website by August 1. Remember safety is our number one priority for our students. If you drop-off or pick up a student, please use Alaska Street. We will be sending home further safety information at the beginning of the year.
If you are in need of before or after school care, Sunrise/Sunset will once again be providing this service. You may contact them directly at 303-332-2056 to get more information.
Back to School Night will be held August 12. Make plans to attend to meet your students' teachers, and see our brand new gym that will be ready for the 2009-10 school year.
